A great portrait draws you in.

It involves more conversation than camera.

Created with intention, artistry and understanding.

The most compelling portraits begin with understanding.

Before photography became my profession, I spent decades in music, media and entertainment, surrounded by creative people and the stories they had to tell. Photography was always part of my life, even when my career took me elsewhere.

Through those years, I learned that the most interesting people are rarely defined simply by what they do or what they've accomplished. There is always more to understand.

Today, that curiosity shapes the way I photograph people.

My Story

I grew up in Atlanta with a camera in my hand and a darkroom in the basement I shared with my brother. Photography was never a hobby, it was simply how I saw the world. But life took me somewhere interesting first.

Over the following decades, I worked at the intersection of creativity and commerce, from the music and entertainment industries to the launch of MTV, later serving as Senior Vice President of Global Development at Live Nation before establishing my own New York-based media consultancy.

Along the way, photography was never far away. I spent several seasons at New York Fashion Week, invited by designers to photograph behind the scenes and capture “last looks,” those moments just before their collections met the world.

Eventually, the camera became more than something I carried with me. Photography became my profession, and a way to explore the people and stories that interest me.
